The first General Affairs Council of the six-month Italian Presidency of the EU Council took place on Wednesday 23 July at 10 A.M. at Justus Lipsius Palace (Rue de la Loi, 175), Brussels. Sandro Gozi, the Undersecretary of State at the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers responsible for European Affairs, led the meeting of the European Affairs Ministers of the member states. The items on the agenda were the programme of the six-month Italian Presidency of the EU Council, Europe 2020 Strategy and Latvia's entry to the Single Currency from 1 January 2015.
The next General Affairs meeting will be held on 29 September in Brussels.
