Green Economy and employment: Environment and Employment informal meetings start on Wednesday
Ministers Galletti and Poletti receive EU Commissioners Potočnik and Andor in Milan

MICO Conference Centre

Informal meetings of the Environment and Employment Ministers will take place in Milan, at MICO Conference Centre, Piazzale Carlo Magno, on Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th of July. Environment Minister Gian Luca Galletti and Employment and Social Policies Minister Giuliano Poletti will chair the meetings in the presence of the EU Commissioners Janez Potočnik (Environment) and László Andor (Employment, Social Affairs and Integration).

On the first day, the agenda will deal with environmental issues, in particular climate change and Europe 2020. On the next day, for the first time during a six-month presidency, a joint informal meeting on Environment and Employment will be held. Central issues will be green growth and employment: tools, experiences and constraints towards a green economy and amendments to the labour market.

On Friday, the works will focus on employment, especially on workers’ mobility and the importance of the third sector.
