EU Energy and Environment Ministers meet on 6 October in Milan
The completion of the internal market and energy efficiency and security will be at the heart of the debate

Double event during the Italian Presidency of the EU Council on 6 October in Milan. The informal meeting of EU Energy Ministers is held during the first half of the day at MiCo Conference Centre and chaired by Claudio de Vincenti, Vice-Minister for Economic Development. The meeting starts at 9 with a session devoted to energy security in the European Union and a thematic presentation by the EU Commission, the European gas transport operators (Entso-G) and the European energy transport operators (Entso-E), as well as the International Energy Agency (IEA). During the same session the Italian Presidency will present the report on medium- and long-term measures, which follows the conclusions of the European Council held on 23 and 24 June 2014.  The challenges related to the completion of the internal energy market will be at the centre of the session at 11:30 A.M.

The second event of the day starts at 1:30 P.M. The meeting becomes an energy and environment joint meeting with the participation of the Environment Minister, Gianluca Galletti. The working lunch is an opportunity for EU Ministers responsible for both energy and environment to tackle the recent communications of the European Commission concerning energy efficiency contribution to security as well as climate and energy policies. The session continues in the afternoon with the debate on 2030 framework policies on climate and energy.
