On 20 and 21 October, Rome hosts the informal meeting of the EU Sports Ministers
Education through sport, financial fair play and a contribution by the President of UEFA, Michel Platini

The informal meeting of the EU Sport Ministers- organized in the framework of the six-month Italian presidency- will take place in Rome at Farnesina, the headquarters of the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry, on Monday 20 and Tuesday  21 October.

The main items on the agenda are: sport as a tool to have a more inclusive society and financial fair play in football. 

The first day of meeting, Monday 20 October, is dedicated to education through sport, cohesion and integration and the role sport can play in fighting social exclusion. Graziano Delrio, Secretary of State for Sport to the Italian Presidency, will open the meeting that will also see the participation of Andoulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Multilingualism, Culture, Sport and Youth.   

On Tuesday 21 October, the debate will focus on fair play, both in sporting activities and as a condition to ensure a level playing field from a financial point of view. Works will start at 9:30 A.M. with a presentation by Michel Platini, the President of UEFA, followed by Coni President Giovanni Malagò’s speech. After the debate, Graziano Delrio will give a closing address presenting the conclusions of the two-day meeting. A press conference with Delrio and Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou is scheduled to begin at 12:00 A.M.
