Agriculture and Fisheries Council

The Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) is responsible for the common agricultural policy, food production, rural development and management of fisheries. It meets generally once a month and brings together ministers of EU member states in charge of agriculture and fisheries (at national level these two fields are not always dealt with by the same minister). The European Commissioner for agriculture and rural development or the European Commissioner for maritime affairs and fisheries also takes part in meetings.
