Competitiveness Council

The Competitiveness Council (COMPET) aims at boosting competitiveness and growth of the European Union with a special focus on internal market, industry, research, innovation and space. For example, it works to remove obstacles to the free movement of products across the borders, to integrate industrial policies with the other areas of the EU policies, it strengthens the scientific and technological basis of European industry and takes part in the Union’s space policy.  Depending on the items on the agenda, COMPET brings together ministers responsible for industry, research or European policies. It meets about five or six times a year. #COMPET
