General Affairs Council

The General Affairs Council (GAC) deals with issues relating to several policy areas of the European Union, such as enlargement negotiations, the adoption of a Multiannual Financial Framework and the institutional setup of the EU.  The GAC meets once a month and coordinates the preparation and the development of the meetings of the European Council – the body formed by Heads of State or Government – and ensures efficiency in the work of the Council configurations. It is made up of Foreign Affairs Ministers or Ministers for European Policies of the 28 member states. #GAC
