Justice and Home Affairs Council

The Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) defines policies against crime and terrorism and deals with judicial cooperation, immigration, protection of external borders and asylum seekers. The Council also adopts legislative acts concerning the free movement within the Schengen area. It meets twice every six months and is made up of Justice and Home Affairs Ministers.
